Identity Verification Services
Identity verification is the process of confirming that a person is who they claim to be. It helps establish trust and reduce the risk of fraud or misrepresentation. By verifying an individual’s identity and personal information, organizations can make more informed decisions. This is especially important during the hiring process or when evaluating candidates for specific roles or opportunities.
- Social Security Name & Address Trace – Based off the SSN, this search accesses a variety of databases to which companies voluntarily report the individual’s address. Companies that provide this information may include creditors, utility companies, magazines, etc. Younger individuals may not have reportable previous address history due to their age and/or lack of credit. This search can trace a subject’s address history, detect fraudulent numbers, and flag numbers that the Social Security Administration has not issued.
- SSN Death Index – A database of people whose deaths were reported to the Social Security Administration (SSA) beginning about 1962.
- International Searches – CoreScreening international searches include criminal checks, education, and employment verifications.
Criminal Background Checks
By conducting a thorough criminal background check, you can build a trustworthy team. This process helps protect your company’s reputation and reduces potential risks. Including criminal background checks in your hiring process supports safer hiring decisions and helps foster a secure workplace.
By embracing comprehensive criminal background checks, you can build a reliable and responsible team. These checks help mitigate risks and protect your company’s reputation. Additionally, they foster a secure and compliant work environment.
- National Criminal Database Search – The National Criminal Database pulls criminal information from over 525 million records to identify potential matches based on name and date of birth. Because database coverage varies significantly by state and FCRA regulations require the maximum possible accuracy, any potential record must be verified at the county court before being reported (an additional fee applies). Note: Some states and counties do not report to the National Criminal Database. Therefore, for comprehensive results, we recommend pairing this search with a county or statewide criminal search based on the applicant’s residency history.
- County Criminal Record Search – CoreScreening’s nationwide network of thousands of court researchers work diligently to obtain the most up-to-date available criminal records from the county courts. Since some counties offer automated results and others require a researcher to walk-in to the court house, turn around time for results varies by county.
- National Sexual Offender Registry – Individuals who are listed in this registry have typically been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor sexual offense against adults or children, and as a result, they must register within the state in which they reside. The National Criminal Database Search automatically searches this registry.
- Federal Criminal Search (PACER) – Prosecutions in federal court will not appear on a county, statewide, or national search. For example, common violations include drug trafficking, tax evasion, embezzlement, bank robbery, kidnapping, mail fraud, and other violations of federal statutes.
- Fingerprinting - State and Federal level live scan and rolled fingerprinting varies by state. For additional information, please contact us.
- Statewide Criminal Search – The Statewide Criminal Records Search accesses an individual state’s repository information. All states vary dramatically on cost, county reporting and turnaround times. Please contact a CoreScreening specialist to determine if the Statewide Criminal search would be a good option for your location(s).
- Nationwide Wants & Warrants – A nationwide database for active, extraditable federal and state warrants. Since warrants are issued by thousands of agencies across the country, the information returned runs a risk of being out
